The Beginning of Indium 111
Indium was discover by Ferdinand Reich and Theodor Richter in 1863, and they named it indium due to the indigo line seen in its spectrum. (1) (2)
The Indium-111 oxide solution used in most nuclear medicine tests today was patented by an Englishman named James D. Kelly from Buckinghamshire, England on June 15, 1982. (3)
